Starting From Scratch

Starting from Scratch ( Lancaster Discoveries  series, Book 2) An Old Flame Brings a Spark of New Hope En Alt Maedel —an old maid. At age twenty-nine, that’s what Eva Lapp considers herself. And who could argue with her? Finding a good Amish husband at her age will be next to impossible. Plus, Eva’s unwarranted bad reputation in Lancaster County precedes her. Maybe living the Englisch life would be better. Squeezed out of her childhood home by her brother’s boisterous family, Eva finds lodging and a new job managing a small café at a local plant nursery. But the challenge of her new position isn’t enough to distract from her current predicament. To Eva’s surprise, her first love, Jake Miller, suddenly returns to Lancaster County. Flooded with emotions and filled with questions about Jake’s past, can Eva trust what she’s feeling? Jake and Eva face many obstacles in their quest for a fresh start in the community, but perhaps with God’s help, they can find the...

An Amish Teachers Gift

I cannot say enough positive feedback about Rachel's Goods latest book An Amish Teachers Gift. This is the first book in Love and Promise series. Perhaps its because I have worked with special needs children for many years so I may have a soft spot for the story. I normally write my reviews about the characters, but this review will be a bit different as I will focus on how Good brought the most accurate story about special needs in an amish community, and how they provide the most current a update resources for their teachers in the classroom. This story brings you everything I could imagine, from frustration to happiness and questioning how all this will come together. I can't recall any other story written with such accuracy. Trust me when I say you will be moved by all the characters in this story and your heart will beat just a bit faster. There is always so much to learn from those with special needs. Thank you Rachel Good for your continued writings. I was given ...

Recipe Wednesday

Todays recipe comes from one of Wanda Brunstetter's cookbook. This was yet another simple recipe to make and I am sure it will be a hit at the table. When I think about what to make for dinner I think about what I have on hand without running to the store and I try to make those one dish meals. I will say it over and over how much I love a one dish meal when cooking for my family. One dish casseroles are easy to clean up and always leftovers, which I am also a fan of. With all that being said, here is another recipe to add to your collection. Enjoy! My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to they taste. Proverbs 24:13

The Celebration

Wanda Brunstetter has been at it again with her new release of Amish Cooking Class The Celerbration. In this book Heidi Troyer is at again teaching her cooking class, but this time the students will be the biggest surprise as well as each of the other characters.  I must say, I thought this was the best book so far in this series. Wanda truly impressed me with the way she captures each character and makes you either love them or not. As always, Wanda brings her stories full circle and gives Glory to God. I was given a copy of this book from the publisher for my honest review for which I have given. About the Author Wanda Brunstetter is an award-winning romance novelist who has led millions of readers to lose their heart in the Amish life. She is the author of nearly 90 books with more than 10 million copies sold. Many of her books have landed on the top bestseller lists, including the  New York Times ,  Publisher’s Weekly ,  USA ...
