An Amish Home

An Amish Home is a heart warming Novella written by some of the most talented authors. Beth Wiseman, Amy Clipston, Ruth Reid & Kathleen Fuller. Each of these authors brings their own touching story to create this beautiful collection. I could easily write a lengthly review on all of these stories, however to keep this semi-brief, I have decided to write a review on, Home Sweet Home by Amy Clipston.

EXCERPT

"Don't be so hard on yourself" Isaac wrenched open the passenger side door. "Vera and I struggled when we were young. Every couple endures tough times, and you and Mia will come through this stronger. Vera and I will do all we can to help you. "With a quick nod, he hopped out of the truck and started toward the front door of the store.

MY THOUGHTS

This story is full of emotion, hopelessness, and failure. You know that feeling, when you have no idea how where your life is headed and how you'll walk the difficult road you've found yourself on? These are feelings felt by, Chace and Mia, a young couple who find themselves on a patht they never imagined. Their fear, confusion and sadness feel overwhelming, until they meet a sweet Amish, Isaac and Vera. This couple deeply understands and empathizes with the young couple.  They show Chase and Mia compassion that they forgot existed. The understanding and love shown to them will inspire you to be a beacon of hope an light in the hardships of the lives around you.

Amy Clipston once again, does not disappoint. I love how Clipston brings this story and the characters to life by making their struggles and feelings immensely relatable. I'm sure we've all felt the way Chace and Mia feel at one point in our life. We've all needed some type of help and I'm sure we can all think of that special person, or family member that have acted as a spiritual light. The rest of the stories in this Novella, are equally as touching, and truly delightful to read.

I was gifted this book for my honest review which I have been given.

A native of New Jersey, I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. I often joke that my fiction writing “career” began in elementary school as I wrote and shared silly stories with a close friend. However throughout school, I only considered writing a hobby, and I never dreamt of being an author.
In 1991, I graduated from high school, and my parents and I moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia. My father retired, and my mother went to work full-time. I attended Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, and I graduated with a degree in communications. I met my husband, Joe, during my senior year in college, a few days after my father had a massive stroke. Joe and I clicked instantly, and after a couple of months we started dating. We married four years later.
After graduating from VWC, I took a summer job with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District, which turned into an eleven-year career. I worked in the Public Affairs Office for four years and then moved into Planning as a writer/editor.

Something Old by Diane Christner   Something Old , the first book in a series of Plain City Bridesmaid, takes place in Plain City , Ohio , where young Katy Yoder is living her life as a Conservative Mennonite. Nursing a heart broken by her love Jake Byler when he left the faith, Katy moves on and recovers in a life of peace and simplicity. That is, until her world becomes turbulent when Jake returns seeking redemption from the church and forgiveness from her heart.   Confused, angry, and torn, Katy faces a difficult test of faith as she seeks the strength of God to forgive a man who hurt her so deeply. Her journey is one that is painfully familiar, the struggle to forgive those who have wounded us. It is in these times that we are vulnerable to temptation, to weakness of spirit, and indulgence in anger. Katy's story is one of courage that shows us how faith can show us the way, even when  we wonder if God is listening. A w...
