Thinking of Spring

I know many of us have been in bitter cold temps and snowed in, hoping for warmer days. Here is a few ways that helps me through these cold days of winter. But before I let you know what I do, I wanted to share with you something I heard the Amish say.

What better way to be or get closer to God, then to be working with the soil. I believe this to be true. With that being said here are my ways that helps get through winter.

I start thinking of my graden and what I will plant. I make a list of what seeds I want and place my order. This will be the first year I order seeds. I start to think of the design of my garden, like where I'm going to plant certain vegetables and what type of flowers I will place in my garden.  You ask, what do I do with my fresh vegetables? Aside from canning and freezing them, I love cooking with my fresh vegetables they can make any meal taste so much better. Here is a recipe you and your family can enjoy. It comes from Wanda Brunstetter Amish Friends Harvest Cookbook. So for your next brunch with family and friends try this recipe Easy Veggie Quiche recipe you and your guests won't be disappointed.

“Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.”

Her journey is one that is painfully familiar, the struggle to forgive those who have wounded us. It is in these times that we are vulnerable to temptation, to weakness of spirit, and indulgence in anger. Katy's story is one of courage that shows us how faith can show us the way, even when  we wonder if God is listening. A w...
