In a
beautiful compilation by some of the most talented authors, An Amish Christmas
gift, has stories filled of love, warmth and the holiday season.
Amy Clipston, Ruth
Ried and Kelly Irvin, each lend a story to this wonderful book. In the first
story, by Clipston, Naomi's Gift, invites you into the beautiful Lancaster
County, Pennsylvania. It is here you are introduced to the lovely, Noami King,
who has given up home on becoming someone's life, otherwise known as a fraa.
However, things soon begin to change for her, when Caleb returns to Lancaster
with his daughter during Christmas.
In the the second
story of the book, Unexpected Joy, written by Ruth Reid, lives up to it's
title. It tells the story of Abigal Kemp, better known by Micah as "Gabby
Abby", who's lives cross when Micah finds himself in the need of a
caretaker for his grandmother. These two find joy in the most unexpected of
places, which makes for a lovely story you won't want to miss!
The final story,
written by Kelly Irvin, is a story that sparks excitement with but holds an
unforeseen twist. Frannie, who has recently been sent to Bee County, Tx in
hopes to get over the English man she had fallen for, finds it much harder to
move on than she thought. The Christmas visitor is a story of a struggling
faith, love and much like Christmas, a feeling that anything is possible.
I received a free copy
of this book from Net Galley for my honest review, which I have given.
