This title makes me think of my childhood and the many dinners shared a round the table with family and friends. At dinner time we were expected to be at the table and sit down to eat as a family. I wonder how many homes in America actually do this? The table is truly the center of family time. It is important as anything else you do in your life. I can't wait to be encouraged and inspired by Amy Clipstons next book. A Place at Our Table.
I had a chance to interview Amy and ask her questions about her family and her table and what take place. Here is what she had to say.
1. What would your husband say is your best and worst cook attempts?
RESPONSE: Joe would say my best was Parmesan chicken. He says I once tried to make a roast when we were living in our first house, and it turned out as a disaster. I don’t remember this, but he insists we laughed about it.
2.What's something you have wanted to cook but fear cooking?
RESPONSE: I wish I had more time to bake. I’d love to try more Amish recipes, such as whoopie pies or pretzels, but I really don’t have time.
3.Who most often gets the job of washing dishes and how is that decided?
RESPONSE: It’s usually my mother and me, but lately I’ve forced the boys to pitch in too!
4. Does everyone have to try new foods or is it okay to pass (my dad always made me take one bite of anything new - so I'm always curious what other parents do when their kids don't want to try something new)?
RESPONSE: We usually allow people to pass on trying new things, but my younger son is much more adventurous than my older son when it comes to trying new foods.
Here is a lovely giveaway too. Click the link below to enter to win.
Thank you Amy for taking the time out to answer these questions. I can't wait to read this next book.
