An Amish Mrket

The Amish Market is a book comprised of four beautifully written stories. Each story is unique and overflows with inspiration from God. Sit back grab your favorite cup of tea, your favorite sweets, and get lost in these heart-warming stories.

The first book, Love Birds, written by Amy Clipston introduces us to Lloyd and Ellie. Llloyd, who has known Ellie for quite some time, beings to view her in a different light after he witnesses’ her fall into mud while chasing a cow. Can this new romance, be a lasting one? Or will Lloyd and Ellie issues with trust be too difficult for these lovebirds to overcome?

In the second story, A Bid for Love, by Kathleen Fuller tells a story of what lengths people will go through to show the love they have for one another.  In this story, we meet Ezra and Hannah. Ezra, who is struggling to tell Hannah the way he feels, continues to visit her at the local market to buy butter, unable express the true reason for his frequent visits. Instead of telling her, Ezra decides to show Hannah how he feels. He bids on a beautiful quilt that Hannah has had her eyes fixed on. When Hannah notices Ezra’s action, she starts to wonder if there is a possibility that he has feelings for her and if they will ever be more than friends.

Sweeter than Honey, the third book which is written by Kelly Irivine, takes you back to a familiar place, Bee County, Texas. This is where you will find and catch up with Will Glick and the happenings of Bee County. A new family has recently moved into the area that seems to give Will a chance at finding love again. In this story, will learn if he can let go of all his hurt and learn what it means to truly forgive?

The final story, Love in Store, by Vanetta Chapman, is a heartwarming journey of a man’s faith and trust in God. David Stolfzfus never thought he would have lost his beloved Beverly; he questions how he will ever move on. Things seem to turn around for David when he crosses paths with Stella and he sees a gentle side that gives him hope that he may be able to find happiness again.

It wouldn’t be possible to pick just one story as my favorite. Each one is filled with faith, love, and learning to follow God’s path for us.  These ladies have a way of bringing each character into your heart and leave you wanting to know more about them.  I am excited to see what next set of stories these talented women with write.

Response: From the time I began reading I started writing short stories and poems. I had an imagination as a child. When I was in second grade I wrote a poem about a moth. My teacher thought it was good and said I might someday become an author. That little seed she planted encouraged me to keep writing. QUESTION 2: From all of the different genres that you could have chosen, how did you decide upon Amish life as your primary focus? Response: I chose the Amish life to write about because through my husband, who has a Mennonite background, I met and became friends with many Amish people, whom we have come to know and love. Something Old by Diane Christner   Something Old , the first book in a series of Plain City Bridesmaid, takes place in Plain City , Ohio , where young Katy Yoder is living her life as a Conservative Mennonite. Nursing a heart broken by her love Jake Byler when he left the faith, Katy moves on and recovers in a life of peace and simplicity. That is, until her world becomes turbulent when Jake returns seeking redemption from the church and forgiveness from her heart.   Confused, angry, and torn, Katy faces a difficult test of faith as she seeks the strength of God to forgive a man who hurt her so deeply. Her journey is one that is painfully familiar, the struggle to forgive those who have wounded us. It is in these times that we are vulnerable to temptation, to weakness of spirit, and indulgence in anger. Katy's story is one of courage that shows us how faith can show us the way, even when  we wonder if God is listening. A wonderful story of heartbreak and triumph with
