The English Son

Wanda Brunstetter and Jean Brunstetter are back at it again with, The English Son, which is book one of a six part series.

Wanda and Jean invite us to go with them to Holmes County, Ohio. Here they introduce us to  Joel Byler, an young business man raised in the Amish community and has now been living in the English world for seven years. It is during this period he meets and falls in love with an English girl, Kristi, whom he plans to marry.

When Joel gets in over his head financially, Kristi worries for their relationship and wonders why Joel is unwilling to share his concerns with her.  Joel, however, does his best to reassure Kristi that everything is fine and she has no need to worry.

Joel decides to go home, back to his old Amish community, to ask his father for help. Though he knew that is would be a difficult thing to do, he thought his father might be able to offer some advice. The last thing he expected, was to have a conversation with his father, that would change and mend their estranged relationship.

If this is the first book all I can say is...WOW! I cannot wait until the rest of the books in this series are released. I hope to see more writings form this wonderful writing duo.

I received a free copy of this book from Net Galley from my honest review which I have given.

Her journey is one that is painfully familiar, the struggle to forgive those who have wounded us. It is in these times that we are vulnerable to temptation, to weakness of spirit, and indulgence in anger. Katy's story is one of courage that shows us how faith can show us the way, even when  we wonder if God is listening. A w...
