Lydia's Bonnet, by Lillian Stoltzfus, is a short story about her mother growing up as a young Amish girl. The book is beautiful in its simplicity. Though it is a short story, Stoltzfus is able to illustrate the life her mother had, and depicts the inner workings of the Amish community.
Lillian is an incredibly talented writer, who is able to tell a beautiful story in just a few pages. I hope to one day see Lillian write a novel that involves the Amish community. With her talent, I'm sure whatever she writes next will be a page turner.
