Promise Lodge is Book 1 in this series. If there is one word to describe Charlotte Hubbard's book it would be: awe-inspiring. Hubbard takes us to Promise Lodge, where we will meet widower, Rosetta Binder and her sisters. These women decide to walk by faith and leave behind their home and set out on a new journey. Rosetta sees Promise Lodge as a place where other widows and single women can come and live to find peace and new beginnings. Throughout the story, Rosetta and her sisters demonstrate great faith, courage and determination. Though they experiences highs and low, they continue to stay resilient in their faith, and find a way to inspire us through their strength. Charlotte Hubbard does a remarkable job bringing each character to life, and through each character reminds us of the love God has for us.  Charlotte has become one of my favorite authors who I can't seem to get enough of. I eagerly await reading each new release a...

Lydia's Bonnet, by Lillian Stoltzfus, is a short story about her mother growing up as a young Amish girl.  The book is beautiful in its simplicity. Though it is a short story, Stoltzfus is able to illustrate the life her mother had, and depicts the inner workings of the Amish community. Lillian is an incredibly talented writer, who is able to tell a beautiful story in just a few pages. I hope to one day see Lillian write a novel that involves the Amish community. With her talent, I'm sure whatever she writes next will be a page turner.

An Amish Mrket

The Amish Market is a book comprised of four beautifully written stories. Each story is unique and overflows with inspiration from God. Sit back grab your favorite cup of tea, your favorite sweets, and get lost in these heart-warming stories. The first book, Love Birds, written by Amy Clipston introduces us to Lloyd and Ellie. Llloyd, who has known Ellie for quite some time, beings to view her in a different light after he witnesses’ her fall into mud while chasing a cow. Can this new romance, be a lasting one? Or will Lloyd and Ellie issues with trust be too difficult for these lovebirds to overcome? In the second story, A Bid for Love, by Kathleen Fuller tells a story of what lengths people will go through to show the love they have for one another.  In this story, we meet Ezra and Hannah. An Amish Year written by Beth Weisman is a collection of stories about love, faith and hope. With the beautiful stories in this book, it would be difficult to effectively depict them all in a review. So instead, I’ve decided to give you a glimpse into what story I absolutely adored. Patchwork Perfect is the fourth story of the book; it was something I felt I could relate to, being a fellow quilter.  When I think of a patchwork quilts, I think of various types of fabric pieces that aren't necessarily perfect, but when brought together, they form a beautiful quilt. Eli Byler has been grieving the loss of his beloved wife for the past two years, in hopes that a change of scenery will give him a fresh start, Eli and his two children move to Lancaster County. At one of the first church services Eli attends, he finds himself drawn to an unusual woman Miriam, who has a reputation of being a unique woman, who focuses more on the youth of the community...
